Puff and I had a lovely afternoon putting the Christmas tree up.
That is, he was meant to be asleep (and I was meant to be knitting) but he decided against that…
That is, Husband and I were meant to have already put the tree up but Husband now has flu and is in bed, so Puff and I are holding the fort.
I would like to draw your attention to Puff’s excellent attention to detail on the lower branches (how many baubles is too many??).
This was my first foray into lace knitting and I found it to be bloomin hard work! I was following the Lace Meadow pattern by Estelle Macdonald (available for free on Ravelry), and I can’t tell you how many times I had to unpick my rows having found that my lacey holes were one stitch out! I can’t fault the pattern – no, the problem lies at my own door. Knitting anything more complicated than a flannel, watching Strictly, supervising the Small Boy and stirring pasta was never going to work out.
Anyway, all’s well etc. Blanket now busy wrapping up a sweet new babe and I am really happy with the result!
