Pretty pink loveliness – baby blanket

2014-08-15 12.46.342This project was a delight from beginning to end!  When I heard that my next-door neighbours were expecting a (surprise) baby, it was a perfect excuse to try out a pattern I’d been eyeing up for ages. I loved it because every other row you get to stop thinking and just knit knit knit without worrying about ribs or cables!  Perfect tv knitting.

Oh, and the reason it is so very very pink…  New baby is a lovely girl after three boisterous boys. Mum has been waiting a long time for pink!

This is a free pattern by LondonLeo, available here on Ravelry.

Pen’s Pals

Oh cute little friends!  I made these pals for my lovely niece Penny. The whole project was made from bits and pieces I had hanging around (like all the best presents right?).  My most favourite bit is the tartan bag made out of an old New Year’s costume.  To be honest I was pretty heart-broken to give them away.  Good thing that kid is cute.

The pattern for the rabbits, bears and their itsy bitty dresses can be found here, on Little Cotton Rabbit’s blog.

Lace Meadow baby blanket

IMG_20131121_140948This was my first foray into lace knitting and I found it to be bloomin hard work!  I was following the Lace Meadow pattern by Estelle Macdonald (available for free on Ravelry), and I can’t tell you how many times I had to unpick my rows having found that my lacey holes were one stitch out!  I can’t fault the pattern – no, the problem lies at my own door.  Knitting anything more complicated than a flannel, watching Strictly, supervising the Small Boy and stirring pasta was never going to work out.

Anyway, all’s well etc.  Blanket now busy wrapping up a sweet new babe and I am really happy with the result!
